Sunday, August 30, 2020

Join us for the VIRTUAL 2020 Make Your Mark! Self-Advocacy Conference September 1, 2020 – October 2, 2020. Sessions this year are focused on developing your vision for your future.

For our virtual conference, we will hold one session a week over the lunch hour throughout September and the first part of October. These will be held via Zoom webinar at 12:00 PM CST.

We are excited to offer FREE registration for individuals with disabilities, family members and direct care support professionals accompanying a participant!

We have created a robust virtual conference using the theme of “Your Vision for the Future.” We are very excited to feature our keynote speaker, Kayla McKeon, manager of grassroots advocacy at National Down Syndrome Society.

Bio: Kayla McKeon is the manager of grassroots advocacy for the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS), where she works to advance legislation beneficial to the Down syndrome community. Kayla gained experience working with members of Congress as an intern for Congressman John Katko of New York. She was named NDSS Self-Advocate of the Year in 2016 and joined the NDSS staff the following year. As the first registered lobbyist with Down syndrome, Kayla is a spokesperson for NDSS and the Down syndrome community, participating in media and speaking publicly both nationally and internationally.
