On October 4, Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds signed a proclamation declaring October National Disability Employment Awareness Month. The purpose is to increase awareness of disability employment issues and celebrate the contributions of America’s workers with disabilities.

“Iowans with Disabilities in Action is proud to be a part of this year’s National Disability Employment Awareness Month,” said Rik Shannon, public policy manager at the Iowa Developmental Disabilities Council. “We want to spread the important message that we value all perspectives, including those of individuals with disabilities.”
